I have to tell you I am a very precious pet,
Pampered in my city life, my urban home, and yet
I was fretting for a secret want, somewhere safe to play,
With river rambles, huge trees to sniff, a rural holiday.
And my master found the perfect place of clever, chic design;
A spacious, fab apartment in mountain air sublime.
Dog friendly and convenient this temporary home
In its lovely alpine village where I’m writing you this poem.

Hugo The Mini Schnauzer, Port Melbourne

Open, clean and roomy. All the little extras to make our stay a home away from home.

Diane & Ken McK., Mt Glorious, Qld. – January, 2012 - 2ND VISIT

Tyntynder Cottages are in beautiful spacious gardens with lots of room to run around in. They are also a good distance from town to walk to to get a coffee.

Judy B., Elwood – January, 2012

Having stayed at Tyntynder Lodge at least twice a year over SEVEN years speaks volumes for the comfort and amenities provided for both myself and my canine companion, Kim – Many thanks.

Michael R, Moama, NSW – January, 2012 – 17th ALREADY BOOKED VISIT – NEXT THREE VISITS

There is plenty of room and the cottage are so clean and well presented. The garden surroundings are just perfect. We loved being so close to the river.

David S., Cowes – January, 2012

It’s a perfect location with lots to do and see and it was the perfect place for us to have a holiday. Safe and secure with fully fenced gardens – beautiful and practical. The cottages are beautifully appointed and the special touches are a welcome surprise.

Helen McW., Caulfield – December, 2011

Very clean accommodation and grounds and beautifully close to the river. Good kitchen and big bathroom. Huge beds and a lovely verandah for wine drinking.

Graeme G., Glenhuntly – December, 2011 – 5TH VISIT

My daughter brought me here for my 70th birthday. She has been a number of times before. The cottages were wonderfully decorated and very cozy and comfortable.

Elsie B., Bendigo – November, 2011

They have exceeded our expectations in providing excellent facilities. As our first trip away with our 9 month old baby I did not think of needing a high chair or fireguard whereas Catherine (our host) suggested these and happily supplied them (no charge of course). They proved invaluable. Great service and thoughtfulness – as with everything here.

Cindy F., Doncaster East – November, 2011

Great fenced garden. Beautifully furnished inside. Great position – so quiet with beautiful walks into town along the river.

Dennys C., Tea Tree Gully, S.A. – November, 2011

The accommodation is beautifully comfortable and practical. The location has lovely things to do. It has everything you would need for a perfect place to stay. I particularly loved the bed. It was the most comfortable one I have ever slept in.

Moira & Jim L., Blackburn – October 2011 – USING A GIFT VOUCHER PURCHASED BY A RETURN GUEST

It was the BEST place we have ever stayed at that welcomed dogs. The trails nearby were fantastic - adored by both owners and pets. The private gardens are peaceful and very spacious. I would recommend this place to all my friends.

Karen H., East Brighton – October, 2011

A high standard of accommodation; clean & modern with character & comforts. Walks, river and a beautiful town on the doorstep…loved it all.

Maggie G., Toorak – October, 2011

This lodge is in the most peaceful surroundings. As soon as we opened the door we felt relaxed and then to open the sliding door to the beautiful back garden – we were in heaven.

Steven W., Chadstone – October, 2011

The cottage is extremely comfortable and roomy and the outdoor area is very private and accessible to the river.  This is our second visit – we love Tyntynder.

Paul R., Gymea Bay, N.S.W – September, 2011 – 2ND VISIT

It is such a lovely place to stay with a very homely feel.  The comfiest beds with crisp white linen.  The place is lovely with great surroundings to go for a walk or ride our bikes.    By far the best holiday destination for miles around.

Fiona C., Surrey Hills – September, 2011

This house is cosy.  I like electric blankets.  I ride my bike everywhere.

Tom C., Surrey Hills – September, 2011

We hate to leave our dog in a kennel and my sister and I tend not to holiday with each other because of this.  We are rapt to find a beautiful place that makes us all feel so comfortable and welcome.  We are nature lovers and this area is gorgeous and perfect.  We will return!!

Joleen E., Keilor – August, 2011

This house has everything we needed and we LOVED the fireplace.  We also loved the walks behind the house as well as having our own private back garden.  There are very few cars here so it is very quiet and peaceful.

Debra T., Law Courts, Vic – August, 2011

This is our 3rd year in a row at Tyntynder Lodge and it feels like home.  The cottages are clean and welcoming and very well appointed.  We all love it.

Donna G., Leigh Creek, S.A. – August, 2011 – 3RD VISIT

I like to lay on the lounge room floor with my carers – they train very well.  We go on walks every day (rain, hail or shine) and then coffee and cake (for a rest).  The well fenced yard keeps me safe.

Hudson Hutchins (canine),  Goulburn – August 2011

Tyntynder Lodge has a great spacious location close to lots of walks.  Great kitchen facilities and good TV.  We lit the log fire every night and just snuggled on in.

Madeleine V., Camberwell – July, 2011

I just love this place from the cottages to the fenced gardens.  The location is beautiful with great walking trails outside your back gate.  What more could you want from a holiday destination – NOTHING!!

Bryan B., SA. – July, 2011 3RD VISIT

We are having our 3rd visit here and the place is as beautiful as it was on our 1st.  The apartments are 1st class and above all clean.  The little extras are much appreciated.  The surroundings are outstandingly awesome.  The whole establishment is “Simply the Best”

Allan & Wendy B., Wonthaggi – June, 2011 – 3rd VISIT

Tyntynder has wonderful facilities and fantastic extras.  When travelling to a new holiday destination it is always a leap in the dark and a lot is taken on trust.  Tyntynder has totally exceeded expectations.  We have already booked our next visit for December.

To be able to take our dog on holiday with us is sensational.  To know you are taking him where he is allowed is fabulous.  But to know that he is allowed & encouraged & welcomed is first class.  Thank you.

There is so much to see and do here.  It’s also very secure and quiet.  And very comfortable – gorgeous backyard and trees and the location is fantastic.

Virginia N., - North Fitzroy – January, 2011

Our dog has never felt so relaxed – even had a snooze during nana-nap time.  We found the furniture and fittings worthy of a 5 star title – clean and tidy for our 5 day stay.  We will be back for the winter season.

They have fantastic facilities including a fenced garden and a homely environment.

Tyntynder Lodge is very clean with a beautiful large garden.  It is so very comfortable the small touches of luxury – goose down pillows and Molton Brown toiletries.

Francesca L., Mt Waverley – December, 2010

We are quite fussy but we were pleasantly surprised to find this spotlessly clean cottage with everything we wanted.  It’s in a beautiful setting in such a tranquil location.  We definitely will come back again.  It’s so very cosy and comfortable and we loved it.

This is high quality accommodation with a lovely garden and is very well equipped.  It’s in a good location in close proximity to the river, the town centre and many walks.  There are lots of places to explore in the area.

Beautiful location – close to the river with lovely green grass surrounding the unit.  Lovely setup for the unit.  CLEAN!  VERY CLEAN!!  and fully stocked kitchen a bonus.

Terry M., Yallambie  -  November 2010

I love my dogs very much and a holiday wouldn’t be the same without them.  Tyntynder Lodge is perfect as it is beautiful and relaxing for me yet it caters for the pooches too by providing a wonderful fenced garden, dog bowls and everyone is made feel so welcome.

Gemma T., North Albury – November, 2010 2ND VISIT

Tyntynder Lodge provides spacious accommodation and excellent amenities.  It has wonderful outdoor surroundings – its own lovely gardens and walking paths close by.  Every need is well met.

Sonia D., - Corio – November, 2010

The garden is great for a dog and the proximity to the river is perfect for walks.  The dog sitting service gives peace of mind when you want to leave the dog at home.

Tom L., Narrabandah, ACT – October, 2010

Why shouldn’t our dog have a holiday with us?  And in such a beautiful place too.  Our first time taking the pooch with us rather than her being in the kennels – a very good choice.  Thanks Catherine.

Andrew M., West Melton – October, 2010

The cottage is clean and wonderfully dog friendly.  Love the fully fenced safe garden for us to enjoy.  Such a lovely outlook from the lounge and bedrooms.

Melissa B.,  Mordialloc – October, 2010

From the moment we arrived I felt at home.  Tyntynder has a warm and friendly feel- brilliant accommodation.  Wonderful garden with fully fenced back yard.  We walked out the back gate and on to walks that we couldn’t get enough of.  THANK YOU.

Karen B., St Helena – October, 2010

This place is perfect.  There is not one thing that I could recommend that could be improved.  It’s all here.  Well Done!!!

Noelene O’B, Healesville – September, 2010

The cottages are spotless and if something does go wrong they always go out of their way to fix it (e.g. ants setting up a nest in the TV aerial).  It’s so relaxing here.

Stu C., Invergordon – September, 2010 – 8th VISIT – NEXT ONE BOOKED

Tyntynder manages to create the perfect balance of hygiene and cleanliness without being sterile.  It is cosy, warm and comfortable.  It is a beautiful and relaxing environment that you can only thoroughly enjoy.

Laura H.,  St Kilda – September, 2010

If you want somewhere special to stay then this is definitely it.  Spotlessly clean, warm & cosy, great people – very helpful.  Lovely king size bed.  The best location with the river at the back and town close enough to walk to.  We love it here.

Judith & Kos S., Gladstone Park – September, 2010 – 7th VISIT

We had a wonderful relaxing holiday in beautiful scenery.  The perfect atmosphere of  our extremely clean, well appointed unit  was much appreciated as was our warm welcome.  Our only complaint was that we couldn’t stay longer.  Thank you for a great stay.

It is an absolutely lovely place to stay.  It is a beautiful property in a lovely spot.  Every small thing has been thought of.

Melissa E., Abbotsford – August, 2010

As regular travellers with dogs (over 20 years) nowhere else compares to Tyntynder Lodge.  Totally pet friendly every need for humans is also catered for.  All dealings either by phone or in person are super efficient and hospitable.  One word – AWESOME.

Rosemary B., Monbulk – July 2010

This place offers a benchmark for all other accommodation.

Barry & Sue B., - Lockwood – June 2010

WOW – not much room and so many things to write!!.  Our owners were so happy here and we were so happy here at Tyntynder.  Treats, special chairs, woodfires, fully fenced yard, lots of very lovely walks.  There was even a yoga mat for my mum.  We had the best time and can’t wait to come back.  Sooooooo  great.  Thank you

Hamish the Westie & Lily the Norfolk Terrier, Hurstbridge – June 2010

We love Tyntynder for the proximity to the river, the miles of walks, the serene beautiful garden, birdsong and falling autumn leaves bathed in sunshine.

Ann & Stephen M., Newport – June 2010

This was our first family holiday together; my husband and I and our 4 legged son, Harley.  We welcomed Harley into our lives from SaveADog Society after he was rescued from death row.  This weekend brought so much joy to us watching him swim in the river, taking the long beautiful walks and sleeping by the fire.  And yes – he also loved the toasted marshmellows.  The house was so clean and cosy – we will be back.

Carly H., Doreen – June, 2010

This is great place to stay – with or without your dog – we were all totally relaxed.

Lynne & Geoff B., Pokolbin – June, 2010

We keep coming back because Tyntynder Lodge is so peaceful for the owners and so perfect for their dogs.  The accommodation is just so tasteful and pleasant and one could not ask for anything more.  The gardens and fenced areas are so attractive.  We all just love it.

John H., Black Rock – June 2010 – 3rd VISIT

Beautiful gardens, great facilities, totally secure garden, close to fund and safe walking tracks.  Nothing is too much trouble it seems!

Lyn K., Chelsea Heights – June, 2010

Having stayed at several Pet Friendly accommodation places  it was a real delight to return to Tyntynder Lodge.  All our needs and requirements were met – as usual.  Privacy – which we value;  delightful walks by the river;  excellent position.  All in all we left very contented – as usual.

Naomi B., Beaumaris – May 2010 –3RD VISIT

After several visits to Tyntynder Lodge we again find it a pleasure to have such enjoyable accommodation.  The units are very clean and warm and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Jan & Ken C., Lakes Entrance – May, 2010 – 4TH VISIT – NEXT ONE ALREADY BOOKED

This is our 4th stay at Tyntynder.  It sounds a cliché to say “This is the best” – but it is!!  We stay all over Victoria in dog friendly accommodation – and nowhere else even comes close to Tyntynder.  The owner goes to great trouble to make you and your pet welcome.  It works!!

Russell A., Middle Park – May, 2010 – 3RD VISIT – NEXT ONE ALREADY BOOKED

Both humans and dogs are welcomed to these beautifully situated cottages – each with a private fenced garden shaded by lovely trees.  They are situated close to the river with great walking tracks close by.  We had a lovely time and hope to make it back again soon.

Jenny V., Warrnambool – May, 2010

Benji (our Maltese), my daughter and I return twice a year to enjoy our stay at Tyntynder Lodge.  We all enjoy the quiet time and the lovely setting.

Mavis C., Mansfield – May, 2010 – 11TH VISIT

This place is the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in.  Everything is so fresh and clean and comfortable.  It was nice to have the freshly made bed and white fluffy towels when we arrived.  Thanks for our stay.

Ann & Peter McC., East Malvern – April, 2010

We really enjoyed our stay with you because

  1.  The Unit was fantastic
  2. The river backs on to the property and we could explore all the walking tracks
  3. We had ample room to move around both in the Unit and the large garden.

Damien F., South Morang – April, 2010

It is a perfect setting for a holiday – you have your own beautiful garden, comfortable bed, delightful surrounds and lots of lovely walks by the river.

Greg & Joanna E., Malvern – April, 2010

The facilities here are excellent.  The private yard area is secure and everything is within walking distance.  Cath & John’s information sheets are very useful.

Renata M., Elwood – April, 2010 2ND VISIT

The garden sparkles in the sun
The river walk is a whole lot of fun
The swings are the best
The garden is where I like to rest
The movies were great
Watching them with my mate
Our suitcases weigh a ton
When our holiday is done.

Magnum – Cavalier KC Spaniel,  Kew – April, 2010

If I were a dog this is where I would bring my owners and family.  Perfectly thought through and presented.  Tyntynder provides what must be the ultimate in first class accommodation & facilities for us all.

Hilary & Mike N., Doncaster East – March, 2010

Tyntynder Lodge is a fantastic place to stay with or without your family pets.  The unit was spotless, the riverside walks were great and it was so nice to know your pets were safe when they were outside.  I will definitely recommend my friends to come here for their holidays in Bright.

Carole & Neil T., Beaumaris  - March, 2010

Best, most relaxing, quiet, comfortable 2 weeks holiday we have ever had – it gets better every year.  Loved it.  We will be back next year for an even longer holiday.  Bright itself is very dog friendly and we were able to take Molly everywhere.

Lyndall B., Blackburn North – March, 2010 – 3rd VISIT-NEXT ONE ALREADY BOOKED

Absolutely spotless accommodation & clean, manicured totally secure back garden.  Fantastic location with great proximity to the river and walking tracks.  We all had a ball.

Lisa C., Kew – March, 2010

It ticked all our holiday requirement boxes.  We appreciated the spacious, well equipped and very clean unit and also the dog secure private garden.  The proximity to the wonderful Ovens River is an absolute bonus.

Trevor W., Warrnambool – March, 2010

It’s our second visit here and the whole family had a ball.  Swims in the river out the back gate, snoozes in the yard under the oak tree and bbq’s on the deck.  It’s the most comfy, relaxing and fuss-free way to holiday.  Big kudos & thanks to Cath & Trish.

Danielle K., Albert Park – March, 2010 2ND VISIT

We all enjoyed this holiday.  The cottage exceeded our expectations.  So clean, modern, pure indulgence and importantly homely, cosy AND QUIET!!

Valerie & Stephen G., Inglefarm, S.A. – March, 2010

Once again we truly enjoyed our stay.  Coming in to Tyntynder Lodge everything is spotless – right down to the dog bowls.  Trish & Catherine – you do a wonderful job and it has been the same over the 4 years we have been holidaying here.

Jeanette T.,  Avonsleigh – February, 2010 – 5TH VISIT

We had a fabulous stay in the peaceful surrounds of the Lodge.  We all loved exploring this beautiful area and then coming back to this delightful haven.  We definitely did not want to leave at the end.

This was a complete experience with everything thought of.  A wonderful place and a great location.  The best holiday cottage we have stayed at.

Susan P., Wonga Park – February, 2010

BrightWe fell in love with this place the minute we arrived and we are already planning a longer stay next time.  The cottage was spotless and gorgeous.  The river – the walks – all at our back door.  Magnificent.  We cherished every minute of being here.

Matthew D. , Watsonia – January, 2010

We come back again and again to Tyntynder because of the peace and quiet that comes from pets being safe and happy and able to come inside so everyone is relaxed.  The cottages are always clean and tidy and the gardens and yard are so nice.  You always have all you want and everyone involved is always friendly.

Stu & Jill C. , Invergordon – January, 2010   9TH VISIT

My name is “Soosie”.  My owner brought me here for a lovely stay.  They had a lovely relaxing holiday because I was a happy little dog.  I loved the clean cottage – no doggy smells.  I loved the leafy green yard too.  My owner said “It was like a home away from home and we’ll be back”.  I’m glad.

Soosie & Mavis B.,  Milawa - January, 2010

Tyntynder is a relaxed environment that offers everything you need.  A self contained garden, plenty of shade and only a minutes walk to the river.  Well done Tyntynder – we loved our stay.

Mark M., Narre Warren South – January, 2010

From the moment we walked in the door we knew we were in heaven.  This is a gorgeous cottage and grounds.  Thank you Catherine & John for a very special holiday.

Lisa R., Leongatha – December, 2009

After 4 years Holly remembered the river.  Straight to the back gate tail wagging furiously.  Nothing like a swim in mountain water followed by dinner and treats.  An extremely comfortable sty, once agin, for Holly & family.

Athol G., Nanaweena –December, 2009 3rd VISIT

Our dog George had a wonderful holiday.  He enjoyed splashing around in the nearly river and the magical walks that were accessible from our gardens back fence.  We will be staying here in the future.

Brigitte K., Croydon – December, 2009

We love Tyntynder Lodge because we can lie in the sun, snooze in the shade, walk to the river and dangle our feet, see our neighbours in safety and get doggy treats for being good.

Ruby the Schnauzer & Jasmine the Boxer, Eltham – November, 2009 – 7th VISIT

Excellent accommodation for dogs and humans – great surroundings, good walking, dog friendly staff and good rates.  Our honeymoon was much better because all our family could be together.

Thanks again for the fantastic holiday.  Your safe and enclosed garden is so well maintained as is the cottage in every respect.  Clean comfortable and tasteful.

Janet & Peter F., Trentham – November, 2009 4TH VISIT & NEXT ONE ALREADY BOOKED

The accommodation was great.  Fantastic back garden for the dog and lots of other great facilities.  So close to everything and with many wonderful walks for humans and their dogs.  We took our dog for so many walks she needed to have lots of sleeps and went to bed early every night.  Our vet said she needed to lose weight and that aim was definitely achieved when we had our great holiday here.

Nichola & Bryce A,  Rowville – November, 2009

Thank you – you have provided everything to make our stay more comfortable and relaxed.  We have genuinely felt welcome here.  We look forward to our next visit.  Highly recommended.
